Travelling Across the World

The ARMS children have thoroughly enjoyed their new topic, Around the World in 80 days. We have been researching life in different countries, especially focussing on El Salvador, Hong Kong, China, Romania, Nigeria and Chad, where some of our children’s families come from.

Did you know that one of the staple foods in El Salvador are pupusa?

These are made with corn floor and filled with cheese or meat. The children loved making and especially eating their own.

Fact files on a country of the children’s choice have been created- the children have been enthralled looking in atlas’ and researching about special places on the internet. Skylar has chosen to find out about Australia, come and ask her what she knows, I am sure that you will be amazed.

In Science, we have looked at the adaptations of animals that live in different climatic zones. Did you know why there are penguins in Antarctica and polar bears in the arctic? No. well ask class 7.

Science is very important in the ARMS and we have recently visited the Life Centre. We had a fabulous day carrying out investigations about the world, as well as seeing how small our world is in the universe.

We have also produced some fabulous landscapes after looking at famous landscape artists and producing our own in our sketch books. We used different mediums to produce them.
