Everybody learns, everybody cares

Super-Stars!

In our final half-term, Reception have had lots of fun with our “…Happily Ever After” topic. We have explored: why it is important to help others, through ‘the Little Red Hen’ story; the importance of telling the truth, through ‘the Emperors New Clothes’; and how we are all different, but very special through, ‘the Ugly Duckling’.

Throughout these tales, we have continued to develop our phonic, reading, writing and maths knowledge and apply our skills as often as we can to be ready for Class 1. Reception are very excited to make the big jump to their new class and are striving to be ‘big boys and girls’ and show everyone what they can do!

We have been ‘Imaginative Iguana’s and strutted our stuff as fashion designers on the catwalk; we have been ‘Brave Bears’ and hunted the forest for our hatched ‘monster’; we have also what it means to be a ‘hero’ or a ‘villain’ and how we could help others if we had super powers. We may not be able to fly, or lift cars, but across the year Reception have all proved that they are definitely Superstars!
