Super Scratch Skills

Class 3 Sum 1 24-25

 

In Literacy, the children have been very excited to find out the ending of our class book, which is called ‘Super Powers’ by Alex Cliff. We have focused developing our use of speech within our own stories to show the reader how a character is feeling. The children particularly enjoyed acting out different speech verbs.

 

In maths, we have been using our knowledge of addition and subtraction to solve money problems. The children have identified the different value of each coin and have developed their reasoning skills by explaining different ways of making amounts. The children have enjoyed buying items and then working out how much change is needed.

What fun we have had during our art lessons! The children created sculptures of their favourite characters using clay. They added detail by using a variety of tools and paint.

 

The children have used ‘scratch’ to help them learn how to add sounds into their coding program. The children have achieved ‘Cooperative Cat’ certificates because they all helped each other and worked as a team. It just shows what we can achieve when we work together!
