Lighting the Way

We have been learning out where light comes from and how shadows are made. We have found out lots of fabulous facts including what a light source is and that a shadow is where a light source is blocked by an opaque object. We carried out an investigation into finding objects that are opaque and transparent, really enjoying using torches as a light source.

Please ask the children in class 7 for the answers to these questions: Do shadows include details and do objects give off darkness to create shadows?

The whole ARMS provision visited the Great North Museum at the end of this half term. We had a wonderful day out observing the fossils and dinosaurs, as well as admiring the creatures form around the world. The journey of the afterlife based on Egyptian mythology is always a huge success as the children loved learning about weighing the dead person’s heart against the weight of a feather! Children then enjoyed their lunch in a quiet room before travelling back to school on the metro.
