Everybody learns, everybody cares

Golf is coming to Bede!

Mrs Lewis has recently completed professional golf training, with a company called 'Little Sticks', and will be rolling out a brand-new golf programme for our key stage 2 children during the upcoming summer term!

As part of our commitment to providing diverse and engaging physical activities, we’re introducing golf as a fun way for children to develop resilience, respect, and teamwork skills. The training was completed with the aim of bringing an exciting new sport to our school curriculum, offering our children the chance to try something different and build confidence in their physical and mental abilities.

What’s in Store?

The golf programme will be aimed at various year groups across key stage 2, ensuring that every child, no matter their age or ability, has the opportunity to get involved. During the summer term, the children will learn the basics of golf, from understanding how to properly hold a club, to mastering their swing, and even learning the rules of the game. Fun activities, team challenges, and mini-golf games will all be part of the programme to keep the children engaged and active.

Mrs Lewis, who has undergone the training, is excited to share her knowledge and passion for the sport. Whether it’s learning the fundamentals or just enjoying a new and exciting activity, this programme is set to be a highlight of the summer term.

Why Golf?

Golf isn’t just a sport—it’s a great way for children to develop important life skills like patience, perseverance, and attention to detail. It helps improve hand-eye coordination, balance, and encourages physical activity in a fun and friendly environment. Plus, golf can be enjoyed for years to come, making it an excellent lifelong skill for the children to take with them.

Stay tuned for more updates as we roll out the golf programme and make this summer term one to remember!

Let’s get ready to swing into action!
