Amazing Adaptions

Being a Scientist

Class 7 have been looking at the adaptations that animals have when they live in different environments around the world. The children have been exploring different habitats found in our country too and the creatures that might live there.

Did you know that you can find a huge range of species of octopus living in the coastal waters in the northeast of England? Can you also think of ways that they are adapted to living in the cold North Sea?

Geometric Genius

Children have identified the properties of 2 and 3 dimensional shapes. They have explored 2 dimensional shapes within 3 dimensional shapes and have deconstructed three dimensional shapes, drawing them accurately onto dotted paper. Some of us have been developing our mastery of maths skills and drawing different shapes using three sides. Using a beebot, we have explored our knowledge of prepositional language as well as learning about half and quarter turns using clockwise and anti-clockwise.

Geographical Exploration

The beebots also came in handy when exploring the continents of the world.  We have zoomed in and looked at various countries within the continents and discussed seas and oceans. Where in the world would you like to live? Everyone in class 7 would like to visit a hot and sunny country, somewhere near the equator. Ask our class where they would like to visit?

Family Involvement

Children have taken part in some wonderful spring crafts with their families. We made bracelets and spring flowers, rabbit masks and chicken nests.

 Keeping Ourselves Clean!

All ARMS children have been talking about personal hygiene and ways to keep themselves clean. We have been carrying out daily toothbrushing as well as how to wash our hands successfully without spreading germs.
